Award-winning global film studio 37th Degree is teaming up with Lunar Film Guild to produce The TerraDoc, the first-ever documentary on Terra’s ecosystem. An in-depth interview with Do Kwon, in addition to conversations with many other figures within the Terra community such as those behind Anchor, Galactic Punks, or Knowhere, will provide an overview of Terra’s present and future. Roadmaps of where the Terra community could be moving towards with regard to NFTs and the metaverse will also form a crucial part of the documentary.

Why TerraDoc

Terra and $LUNA have been firmly at the forefront of recent developments within the Web3 space. Yet there remain misunderstandings from outside the Terra community, as was noticeable during parts of a Coindesk interview with Do Kwon last year. On the other hand, there are increasing numbers of people who are curious to learn more about the ecosystem because of the stellar growth it has achieved. For all such observers on the fence, this film will help you dock at Terra Station, and the upcoming NFT drop will help 37th Degree finance the film’s production.

About The TerraDoc NFT drop

The NFT drop, which will begin at 11pm Singapore time on Friday the 21st of January on Knowhere, will be used to help fund the production, promotion, and distribution of TTD (The TerraDoc).

A total of 3737 PFPs, stylized with a nod to cinema and a punk-type pixellated aesthetic, will be offered. The holders of the first 37 NFTs in this series will bear the title ‘Saint’ and these 37 will each be put up for auction, with 2 new NFTs becoming available for bids every hour. Bid price for Saint NFTs will start at 7.21 $LUNA.

Saints will receive :

  • the opportunity to give interviews for the documentary should they desire
  • the chance to participate in a private interview with Do Kwon for the documentary
  • eligibility for automatic membership to join ScreenDAO, which will aim to acquire stakes of blue chip studios and/or fund high quality film or TV projects, with the DAO receiving rights related to NFTs that emanate from said investments

To elaborate on the third and final element of the Saints’ rights, the DAO aims to disrupt the inefficient and bureaucratic financing system of the traditional big screen content industry. We live in an age where Christopher Nolan could finance Batman 4 through NFTs; we just need to show the way.

To that extent, acquiring a piece of the studio that produced, say, Squid Game (purely an example as this particular case is difficult or impractical for various reasons), and receiving NFT rights to Squid Game 2 would not only present the opportunity for positive returns but also a clear cut chance to seriously etch $LUNA into the mainstream psyche. The subsequent NFT offerings would also propel Terra to a leading position in the burgeoning NFT-backed defi space. Where ConstitutionDAO fell short, ScreenDAO will fare better because of the strong industry relationships that those behind 37th Degree built over the years.

Apart from the Saints, the 3700 Patron NFT holders will receive :

  • access to the world premiere of TTD’s rough cut (via private links, the token holders will be able to watch before anyone else the first rough cut)
  • voting rights; after watching the rough cut, Patrons will be able to vote on the direction of the narrative before the film’s final cut is produced
  • airdrops of deleted scenes
  • entry to whitelist for the ScreenDAO should memberships open up

The 3700 Patron mint will occur immediately after the final 37th Saint’s auction has ended, and mint price will be set at 1 $LUNA.

About 37th Degree

37th Degree is an internationally acclaimed production studio that is distributed and decentralized in nature. Established in 2014 by classmates of the Prague Film School that hail from Italy, US, and Korea, the studio had offices in Milan, New York, and Seoul from its inception while running satellite node offices with sister studios — also run by film school classmates — in Paris, Bangkok, Reykjavik, Tokyo, and many other locations. This unusual structure enabled 37th Degree to be capable of shooting multi-location projects on shorter schedules and smaller budgets compared to centralized studios that were used to identifying and hiring local producers and studios for each overseas shoot.

37th Degree has been at the forefront of metaverse filmmaking, having produced the origin film for global K-Pop girl group Aespa, famous for featuring K/DA type virtual avatar singers. Additionally, 37th Degree has worked with global brands like Chanel, BMW, Samsung, IKEA, TAG Heuer and more, while it has also produced multiple films that won awards at the world’s premier film festivals such as the Venice Film Festival. 37th Degree is also the only studio that has received investment from Michigan Venture Fund, a longstanding film fund in Korea that is famous for having financed dozens of mega blockbuster Korean films.

The Terra ecosystem has grown beyond expectations, and it is high time for a worthy storyteller to present Terra’s story to the world in the way it deserves. We at 37th Degree believe we are narrators of that ilk, and would be honored to take up the mantle of producing the first of Terra’s murals to be enjoyed by posterity. #LUNAtics fucking go.
